State Research
In 4th Grade students have been using Pebble Go Next and ELM Resources, and books to complete research on different states. Earlier this year, students learned how to use Smore to make an online poster about themselves in preparation for this project. Our students worked hard to research different states and then share their learning using technology skills.

6th grade-- MN Industries
6th Graders have been learning about Minnesota industries in history. Their teachers and I collaborated to have students create a SMORE about one of the industries that they had learned about. Students learned how to link images back to the original source. Check out their amazing work:

Smore with 6th Grade
In 6th Grade this week I worked with Ms. Carey's class to make an "All About Me" Smore. In past years, this activity has taken a lot of prep in how to upload pictures, create links, and create content online. Distance Learning has made these kiddos tech savvy in ways that even surprised me! This mini unit was fun and easy with these 6th Graders!
Check out their great work:

Fur Trade Blogs
Fur Trade Blogs
In 6th grade, we have been learning about blogs and blogging. We learned that:
- Blogs are a more informal way of communicating online
- Blogs are like a journal with newest entries on the top of the page
- Blogs are used for many reasons (hobbies, teaching tool, journal...)
- Blogs are a way to publish online-- some people are even paid to blog!
- Blogs are a type of digital media and are interactive
- Blogs are fun and easy to make
Sixth graders have been leaning about the Voyageurs in their Social Studies Class. For their final project, students were asked to journal in the voice of a voyageur.
Students typed their entries up in class, and their teacher and I worked with them to create a blog using blogger.
